Nail Polish Factoid: SNS Powder

The liquid component of SNS Powder is Cyanoacrylate, which is known to you and me as the product Super Glue.

The powder component of SNS is primarily sodium bicarbonate, or Baking Soda.

Mechanics for the U.S. military developed this chemistry trick to field-repair the composite rotors on modern attack helicopters; when mixed together, cyanoacrylate and sodium bicarbonate create an adhesive compound that is fast-drying, tough, flexible and sandable.
